My thoughts:

Alex, Ozzie and families decide to take an amazing vacation in Hawaii and meet up with friends from the past. Unfortunately an attempted murder and a house explosion ruin their vacation! As they're trying to wrap their heads around it a friend goes missing and someone from their past shows up on the island.

Is the yakuza at fault? Or is someone else running the show?

As always, Mr. Mefford is the master of mystery and of very well-timed plot twists. This book literally can't be put down once you get hooked!

This is an amazing continuation of the series, and I'm waiting rather impatiently for the next book!

My thoughts:

Talia and Derek live hugely different lives. Talia is a professor who doesn't take chances or veer from the norm, while Derek is a student and a exotic dancer. Yet they're both nearly identical at their very core. They both adore their families and are protecting themselves from a broken heart or a damaged soul.

Talia is the odd one out in her family, far more straight-laced then everyone else, but a love potion is about to change all of that. While on a group phone call with her family trying to get her to date, she nearly runs over Derek with her car.

Derek is working extremely hard, both on his current job and towards his future career. Beyond that is the all-encompassing care and compassion for his ill father, which is an immense struggle but keeps him connected to the only family he has left.

Derek convinces Talia to go out with him, and the balance in both of their lives shift. Can they have a relationship without causing problems for Derek's father? Can they get past their differences?

This is a wonderful, heartfelt story, and it's amazing to experience the love and heartache that comes with caring for an family member with Alzheimer's. It's a joy to watch Derek be so committed to his father and their future, but made me cry with their struggle and hardships.

My thoughts:

This book was a seriously fast-paced thriller, that had me turning pages so fast that I thought my Kindle would overheat! This is a twisted psychological FBI thriller, with friendship, parenting and dash of romance thrown in.

Alex is finally settling in to her life, buying a new house and making future plans with her boyfriend. Ezzy is moving on and Alex's kids are happy, until everything changes in an instant. A serial murderer is hitting very close to home, and everyone that Alex loves is at risk.

John Mefford has done it again, continuing the Alex Troutt series and the Redemption Thriller Series. While this book can definitely be read as a stand-alone novel, I recommend settling in and reading them all!

My thoughts:

This is a light, fun, wonderful read! Serena and Drake have had feelings for each other since forever, but with Serena leaving town to follow her dreams Drake pushes his feelings aside so that she has the best chance at a future. But with her moving can either of them deny how they feel? Can they make a long distance relationship work or will one of them have to give up part of themselves?

This story is sweet and romantic and funny and everything that you're looking for in a book. The support characters are great friends, and have their own books (which I recommend reading!)
