Help! I need ideas!
So in the past year we've gotten her potty trained and gotten rid of bottles. But the pacifier? Not so much. We're down to where she's only allowed to have it in bed, at night. But Scooter is obsessed!
For the older kids we got them down to night time only and they just lost interest. Scooter? She'll ask to go to bed anytime she wants her plug. I want it gone in the next couple weeks, but it's not looking good on our end.
I thought about doing the "Binkie Fairy" thing, but since the older kids still believe in the tooth fairy and Santa (or claim that they do), I don't want to add a new fairy to the mix and cause doubts.
So help this mama out and give me some ideas on how to get the plugs gone without traumatizing her (or causing a bunch of sleepless nights in our house).
*Just an FYI, this picture is really old and she only uses one at a time. She was playing around, so don't judge me, I just thought it was cute.

Where Petals Fall Book Tour and Giveaway
On the surface Junie Olson’s life looks idyllic, from her handsome husband and beautiful daughter to her successful business, the bakery she'd always dreamed of opening. But in the past few months her world has slowly unraveled. Her precocious child is withdrawing, showing unexplainable signs of emotional regression, a condition that frays the bonds of Junie’s once impenetrable marriage. When her father dies suddenly of a heart attack, Junie packs up her daughter and goes home to help her mother. Her homecoming stirs up memories of the nightmare she thought she had put behind her, the disappearance of her childhood friend, Ellen. Haunted by recurring memories of what happened on that fateful day, Junie must gather the courage to revisit her past and untangle the secrets surrounding her missing friend, and the trauma that has caused her little girl to climb back into herself. As the pieces come together on the event that shook her small town, and at the risk of losing everyone she loves, Junie will question everything she thought she could rely on and everyone she thought she knew.
WHERE PETALS FALL is a gripping and emotional novel with an undercurrent of suspense, featuring a determined mother whose world slowly comes apart around her. Readers will root for Junie as they follow her transition into an indomitable heroine who must reconcile what she discovers about her husband and family’s tragic past, and find a way to put the pieces of her family back together and carry on.
My Thoughts:
I don't normally read stories of this type, but the description was interesting enough to compel me to read it. And boy am I glad I did! This is a story of a woman with a nice life, a wonderful child and husband, and the career she's always wanted. Then her child starts regressing and she's unable to help her. She feels incompetent because she can't help her child and it's ruining her marriage. Then her father dies and she's stuck in the middle... trying to help her daughter, her mother, run her business and attempting to keep her marriage afloat.
And to make matters worse being at home is bringing up memories of her childhood when her best friend disappeared. Can Junie take care of everyone and discover what her memories are trying to tell her? Who can she trust?
This was a gripping story that will keep you filled with suspense until the very end. I couldn't put it down until it was finished! I haven't read Melissa Foster before but I definitely will again.
