Paige MacKenzie heads to the town of Hutchins Creek, Colorado, to research Old West railroad history for The Manhattan Post, with plans to meet up with her favorite cowboy, Jake Norris.
When a mysterious coin from the 1920’s is discovered behind the Hutchins Creek Railroad Museum, Paige starts digging into four generations of Hutchins family history.
As legends of steam engines and coin mintage mingle, will Paige discover the true origin of the coin or will she find herself dangerously close to more than one long-hidden town secret?
My thoughts:
Paige MacKenzie, reporter extraordinaire, is at it again. This time she's writing a completely innocent story about railroad history and combining her work trip with a getaway with Jake, who is still trying to convince her to move to his ranch.
Sounds like it should be a cut a dry romance, right? Wrong! Of course Paige gets herself embroiled in a mystery. After all, when an old gold coin practically falls into your lap what else is there to do?
So Paige sets off on an adventure, trying to figure out where the coin came from and who in the small town of Hutchins Creek is hiding something major. The main difference between this and her prior escapades is that Jake is along for the ride (and to try to keep her safe).
Will she figure out the mystery of the coin before her time in Hutchins Creek is done? And will Jake finally convince her to settle down with him?
