We live in California, where it's always sunny and women rollerblade in bikinis on the beach (at least on tv). However, this is the best weather I've seen in days...
It's been gray and cold for weeks and has been raining off and on all week. I keep reading people's blogs and they're talking about how hot it is and showing pictures of their kids in swimsuits or tank tops, yet here in California we've only been able to wear crops twice this year! Twice. This. YEAR!
Supposedly we're going to break 70 this weekend (supposedly up to 76!) and we're planning on going for a hike. I'll let you know how it goes.
And I know I shouldn't be complaining, seeing as how I'm 7 months pregnant and it's going to be a miserable summer, but I want my crops! I have no idea where our umbrellas are anymore and the rain keeps coming! My kids (and my belly) are outgrowing our coats and I'm not buying new ones in June!
So how's the weather at your house?

Okay, I'm home and want to climb on to the couch and not move until tomorrow!
Today has been an awfully eventful day. Took Bok Boy to school, came home and fed myself and Little Miss breakfast. Went to leave for Little Miss' playdate (see post below), to find out I have a flat tire. Fun fun! Tire has had a slow leak for awhile but apparently became a fast leak last night. Reinflated tire (thank you to my Uncle for the emergency auto kits he's always giving me for Christmas) and then went to the playdate.
Picked up Bok Boy from school (after separating two tearful girls who did not want to leave each other). Drove very carefully to tire store and had front two tires replaced. (And MAN are tires expensive!) Drove home with our new happy tires and had a quick snack (4pm by now and baby-to-be was bouncing in me for lack of food!). Practiced piano with Bok Boy and left again by 4:30 in order to get to piano lessons.
Finally home after 6pm and I don't want to do anything! Mommy needs a timeout!
Going to my happy place....
Anybody coming with me?

My little girl is growing up!
Little Miss had her first "official" play date today. I say official because she's had many before, but they were with my friends' kids. This was the first one where SHE chose the friend, not me.
Luckily for me the other mom and I get along fabulously (and her big bro is in Bok Boy's class), so I anticipate many more play dates in the future!
It's weird for me to be making new friends, as I haven't made more than acquaintances in years (since I stopped working). All I can hope is that this will be the first of many (or at least a few!)
How about you? Do you have a hard time making new friends? Is it becoming more difficult as your life has changed? I've noticed I don't have much in common with folks without kids anymore (except for a love of board games, which is a whole different ballgame!)
Sorry for the rambling... I've gotten used to talking to grownups again so I suddenly have a lot to say!

Awesome deal on nursing covers from Udder Covers!
Hi all! I don't normally post freebies (mostly because by the time I find them they're gone), but this one is killer!
Udder Covers sells these gorgeous nursing covers normally for $32.00 plus $9.95 shipping, but right now with the coupon code onefree it takes the price down to $0! All you pay is the shipping!
I ordered one of these a coupon of months ago when I first saw the deal and thought it was over. I haven't had a chance to use it yet, as baby is still "baking". So have fun shopping and then let me know how you like it!
* All items are on backorder due to demand, but I received mine much sooner than it said.

I haven't been ignoring you, I swear!
I haven't posted in a few weeks, and I feel awful about it, but family and life has to come first.
In the past 3 weeks I've:
Celebrated Bok Boy's 7th birthday with a party for 16 kids and about 20 adults at our local Round Table.
Had my in-laws in town for Bok Boy's birthday.
Had my OB stuck in Italy due to the volcano and had to reschedule my appts.
Had the kids' karate belt test (Bok Boy is now a brown belt and Little Miss is a green belt!)
Cooked dinner for 125 people with my mom's help.
Worked at an Art and Wine Festival (I make/sell jewelry, hairbows and tutus). This is my last show until after baby is born, thank goodness!
Celebrated my best friend's 30th Birthday with a night of drunken debauchery and dancing on a boat in the San Francisco Bay (the night before the Art/Wine Festival), and of course I wasn't drinking (so don't hassle me... I was mostly laughing at the drunken shenanigans!)
Celebrated Mother's Day with my mom, hubby and the munchkins (and hubby/Bok Boy melted a plastic serving spoon in the dishwasher so I spent part of the day rewashing the dishes and scrubbing out the melted plastic).
Helped hubby pack for his business trip in Canada (and now I'm on day 2 of him being gone!)
On the positive side, I did find out that all my OB testing was normal, including the blood glucose testing).
Oh, and now we're planning Little Miss' birthday party, which is in just 2 weeks!
And this is just the big stuff, that's listed on my calendar! So I apologize and I hope to get caught up soon. I have several awesome giveaways coming up!
